WiFi Portfolio

WiFi, WiMAX and LTE Patents
WiFi is a popular technology that allows an electronic device to exchange data or connect to the internet wirelessly using radio waves. Often called “wireless internet,” WiFi is everywhere—think WiFi hotspots in airports and coffee shops—and inside almost all laptop computers and tablets, the majority of mobile handsets, as well as handheld gaming devices, video game consoles, networked printers and more.

Conversant’s wireless portfolio includes patents and applications that are essential to the IEEE 802.11 standard, which addresses physical and data link layer protocols for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) technology, popularly called WiFi. Some of the patents in this widely licensed portfolio relate to the IEEE 802.16 standard, known as WiMAX, and the 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard, which is typically described as a fourth generation (4G) cellular mobile system.

Our WiFi, WiMAX and LTE patent portfolio includes patents granted in the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Great Britain and Canada.
